The 2018 IndyCar Racing Car Gets a Celebrated Unveil at Detroit

Detroit-The 2018 IndyCar racing season is just around the corner and some of the most celebrated names from the auto industry as well as the open-wheel racing were present at the Detroit Auto Show this Tuesday to unveil and introduce the car that they had to use during the upcoming season of the IndyCar Racing.

Developed in order to enhance the safety of the driver, ensure a much closer racing experience and passing another car frequent and easier, the new car has all it takes to compete with the likes of bigger names such as Chevrolet and Honda. The new car is an automobile marvel with advanced features, aerodynamic bodywork kit, enhanced performance and an exterior that can give the best of car painters a complex.

Celebrated Verizon IndyCar Series Champion for the year 2017, Josef Newgarden was in attendance and was all praises about the new universal aerodynamic bodywork kit that according to him is nothing short of brilliance. To him it looked a lot more like a race car should look and he went on to state that the car had a marvelous chassis that was under development for the past year and further stated that the car can now hit speeds of around 240 to 245 mph at the Indianapolis 500.

Another big name present at the event was Roger Penske, founder of Penske Racing and a winner of 16 Indianapolis 500s and 15 IndyCar championships, as he sat on a defined panel of automotive executives joined by former and current race car drivers while the 2018 Verizon Indy Car Series race car was on presentation. According to Penske, the industry is here to stay for a very long time even though it has been facing a lot of disruptions from autonomous vehicles powered by electric motors and newer retail models. As he spoke about the importance of innovation, technology and autonomous driving taking over the future auto industry, he went on to state that no matter what, drivers will still get to sit and drive in the car of the future. Being the CEO of Penske Automotive Group which happens to be the country’s second biggest new car dealership group stated that they have continued with their success and sold over 500,000 new and used cars last year, a target they feel will be a challenge to achieve this year. Penske, who is dedicated to racing just as he is committed to automotive retail, believes that racing helps brands promote their products and how good they actually are.
